CrossFit stands for variation and adaption. We program our workouts for the so-called General Physical Preparedness, GPP for short. With us there is no leg-day, back or chest or cardio-day. The body is trained as a whole system, as well as a basic knowledge of nutrition is integrated. CrossFit is based on nutrition as the foundation of health and fitness. In CrossFit, a so-called best practice mix of gymnastics, weightlifting and metabolic conditioning is made.

It has been shown that with 3-5 training sessions per week, the biggest results come. The regeneration time is a very important factor. It is important that you listen to your body. Do not exercise beyond the pain! Nevertheless, you will probably experience muscle soreness and tiredness.
TheOpenGym is best suited for this purpose in addition to a Personal Training session from time to time.

The recommendation of CrossFit is "3 days on - 1 day off - 2 days on - 1 day off".
It is important to us that you train regularly, because only through continuity over a longer period of time with appropriate intensity you will have progress and success. You can only achieve this if you train regularly. Elite athletes train daily, but with varying intensity and 1-2 active days of rest.

CrossFit Freienbach - founded in 2015 - specializes in CrossFit and functional training. Since April 2024 TheOpenGym is also an official HYROX Partner Gym.
We exclusively offer TheOpenGym, a concept for free training without classes, so experience is required.
In the 5.37m high training hall on 300m2 you can train 24/7 with an additional option for Personal Training with Pascal Bollmann. Among other things, 8 Mayhem programs are offered, which are suitable for different goals.
The training hall is ideal for HYROX, CrossFit, calisthenics, functional training, power-/weightlifting, athletic training etc.

HYROX always means Competition! In each event, athletes in different performance classes face the same challenge: 8 workouts and 8 x 1000m running. Yes, TheOpenGym has been an official HYROX Partner Gym since April 2024. We will offer workshops and events on a regular basis and keep you up to date here.
As a member, you can ideally prepare you individually for a HYROX event here and/or simply do the skills/workouts according to HYROX. Our 24/7 access system allows you maximum flexibility.

No, as of June 2024, TheOpenGym is no longer an official CrossFit affiliate.
Between June 2015 and May 2024, we as CrossFit Freienbach were an official CrossFit affiliate.
During this time we offered classic CrossFit group classes from 2015 to February 2020. In addition, we have offered 24/7 OpenGym access since we opened.
From March 2020, a realignment took place, whereby we focused exclusively on the TheOpenGym concept without guided classes. Although we are no longer directly affiliated with CrossFit, we still have full equipment for CrossFit training.
We have also been an official HYROX Partner Gym since April 2024, which expands our training offerings.

A lactate threshold test measures the lactate concentration in the blood during gradually more intense exercise. The results (zone 1-5) allow you to determine your individual anaerobic threshold, which provides the basis for precise training control. This allows you to specifically improve your endurance and performance, avoid overtraining and optimally prepare for e.g. CrossFit/HYROX competitions. Regular testing every 6-9 months allows you to continually adjust your training plan for maximum progress.
The tests can be completed on the treadmill or bicycle ergometer and can be asked directly from Owner Pascal Bollmann. Pascal has already tested almost a thousand athletes, health and business persons, many of them several times, to ensure more follow-up.

CrossFit teaches 9 basic exercises in the Bascis. The mastery of these 9 basic exercises correlates directly with the movement efficiency during a workout and is the prerequisite to achieve the transfer to other exercises of a WOD.
The 9 foundational movements are:
- Air squat
- Front Squat
- Overhead squat
- Shoulder Press
- Push Press
- Push Jerk
- Deadlift
- Sumo Deadlift High Pull
- Medicine Ball Clean
All these movements could be e.g. booked with additional Personal Training sessions to ensure a correct, effective and safe execution.

There are several ways you can become a member with us:
1. If you already have CrossFit /Functional Training experience or similar training experience (at least 3-6 months) - you can book your first month at TheOpenGym directly at http://move4health.ch/en/start-now#Prices . 2. For those with a little CrossFit/Functional Training experience, it is recommended to book additional Personal Training, ideally in addition to TheOpenGym (1, 3 or 6 months).

As an active TheOpenGym member, please follow the guidelines below for reimbursement and fill out the confirmation of your membership according to the sample and have it signed by the owner.
